Watson Pond Restoration
2016
2016 Watson Pond Restoration Project
This project consisted of three ponds that were overgrown with invasive willow. We removed them by forestry mowing and hand cutting the remaining willow. The following season we treated the re-sprouts with an aquatic approved herbicide. Now the areas are willow free and native species have returned. These areas are now reclaimed and can be enjoyed for recreation.

There are several buildings in the background that will be visible in later photos!

There acctually is a nice sized pond here but you can’t see it yet!

Brush mowing the area along the third pond on the property.

Friesen Project 2017
This was an overgrown somewhat open area on this property that needed to be reclaimed. This area was cleared and planted in food plots for hunting.

This is the view from inside the blind after the plot was planted with beets and turnips.

This is after the plot was reseeded.

More hand cutting and treating.

More willow that we weren’t able to forestry mow.

This is what the area looked like after we got everything cut and treated.

Hand cutting and treating the willow we couldn’t get to with the forestry mower. Unfortunately the water level was up when it froze and then went down making our work harder!
Brush Management Project

2018 Brush Management Project
This project consisted of removing invasive brush along an access road into a property. The invasive brush was cut, treated and stacked for burning. The goal was to remove invasives to allow for natural regeneration.

2018 Food Plot Project

This is after the seedbed was prepared. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures prior to clearing because the area was quite overgrown!

More seedbed preparation prior to planting.

This is another area on the property where we snuck in a 1/2 acre plot in the shape of a horseshoe around the end of a cornfield.

This is a finished clover plot ready for hunting!

This property had some small areas that needed to be cleared and prepared for food plots. The areas were cleared, tilled, fertilizer and planted.

Getting ready to establish a kill plot in the woods!

Weaver Stream Restoration Project

2019 Weaver Stream Restoration Project
We assisted with the stream restoration by cutting and treating invasive brush with an approved herbicide. The brush was then stacked for burning. The goal of this project was to clear invasives and then plan pollinator mix to attract the Karner Blue Butterfly.

This is starting to open up the area along the streambank so it can be planted with pollinator mix to attract Karner blue butterflies.

This is what the finished area looks like prior to being seeded.

Finished area waiting to be seeded along with the mowed prairie which is in the back right of the picture.

The goal is to open up the streambank so the Karners can travel through from the planted prairie.

We are cutting and treating the invasive brush. Then stacking for burning in the winter months.

More cutting and piling brush.
